An epic and world famous stretch of road. If you travel south to north, be aware that from Bayview to Bear Creek and then Bear Creek to Black Mountain Road is single lane, a bit goaty and the locals drive like idiots for the most part (I am a local, I can say that). The two lane sections are glorious, but are heavily patrolled on the weekends during peak riding season. Bikes and sports car clubs use this area as their own personal race track and center lines frequently mean nothing so be on your toes. The picture of Alice’s Restaurant above is about half way between HWY 17 and HWY 82 and THE hang out. Weekends are impromptu motorcycle shows and you can frequently see some pretty rare and exotic machines.

Also be aware of HWY 9 from Saratoga over to Santa Cruz, Page Mill Road from Palo Alto over to Alpine Road to Hwy 1, Woodside Road in Woodside and many others in the area that could keep you occupied for days. I will post up several of the better ones.
Nice! I’m going to make your comment the main page content since I didn’t have anything there. Feel free to edit the main page and/or add some photos. My Alice’s photo isn’t the best.
